Students should have been practicing yoga for at least 2 years before embarking on our teacher training course.

Booking

A deposit of £600 is payable at the time of booking. The final payment should be made at least two calendar months before the course starts. We reserve the right to refuse a place to students who have not paid their deposit or full fees by the required date.

Payment Deposit Dates

The deposit should be paid upon acceptance of your place. Your place is not reserved for you until this is done. The balance of the course fees can be paid in three instalments. The final payment needs to be made within two calendar months of the beginning of the course.

Student Withdrawal and Refund Policy

Student withdrawing from the course

In the event of a student withdrawing from the course prior to the final payment date, any balance of fees beyond the deposit paid will be refunded. The deposit is non-refundable.

Procedure on how to make a cancellation

A student wishing to cancel their booking should address the cancellation in writing to Kathryn Taylor, giving as full an explanation as possible, including supporting evidence if applicable. (For example, a Doctor’s letter to confirm an illness or injury.)

During the Course

This is an intensive course and the entire course must be attended to successfully graduate.

There is a six week period on completion of the course to complete any outstanding assignments and submit them for assessment. The latest submission date will be advised prior to and on completion of the course.

All practical assessments and assignments are based on a more often than not principle. There is adequate time within the course for students to achieve the standard on this basis and time is allowed for re-assessment. If for unforeseen circumstances this is not possible, students will be invited to attend the venue at a later date to be assessed. There are no additional charges on this basis for a single reassessment. Should a student require more than one reassessment these will be charged at £50 per 2 hour period. This allows time to ensure that significant development in the required area has been achieved and that the reassessment is able to assist the learner.

Daily yoga practice by students is a requirement of the course. Students are expected to attend and participate in all sessions.

Extensions for students unable to complete the requirements due to unforeseen circumstances will be treated on an individual basis. In the first instance they should discuss this at the earliest opportunity with one of the teachers. Evidence may be required but will be situational dependent.

Cancellation of Course

If in the unlikely event that the course is cancelled by us, students will be given the maximum notice possible, which may depend on the circumstances. In this eventuality either a full refund or a place on a future course will be offered.

Complaints Procedure

We hope that you won’t need to make a complaint, however in that unlikely event the following procedure should be followed:

Stage 1 – Please have an informal chat with us, or specifically the teacher involved.

Stage 2 – Discuss the matter formally with the other teacher.

Stage 3 – Written complaint, completed within 48 hours of the situation that you are complaining about, with supporting evidence attached. At this stage complaints will be handled within 72 hours of receipt and a formal response returned to the complainant. At all times complaints will be handled in a confidential manner. If it is not possible to prove a full answer within a certain amount of days, a letter outlining the reasons why and and with a date by which a full answer is expected will be sent.

If necessary complainants may be accompanied by an impartial friend or advocate to support them. If the complainant feels that they need to bring a translator that is acceptable also.

Code of Conduct

At the point of the sign up process, students will be asked to sign a Code of Conduct in order to start the training. In order to maintain high standards and to keep our good reputation, it is important students reach a minimum standard of competence in their knowledge and delivery of yoga. It is imperative this Code of Conduct is upheld on a continuous basis.

This Code of Conduct is a declaration of acceptable, ethical and professional behaviour. The ethical goals that our students must uphold in order to continue with our training are listed below.

  • To be non-discriminatory in their behaviour and speech at all times.
  • Behaviour at the course venue should at all times be appropriate, and not likely to bring us into disrepute or conflict within the local area.
  • To ensure that their teaching is safe and effective at all times.
  • Acknowledge the limitations of their knowledge, skills and scope of practice and where appropriate, refer students to seek alternative instruction, advice, treatment, or direction.

All students will comply the requirements of the Code of Conduct and must accept that failure to do so will disqualify them from completing our course. All students will be expected to sign this document, no later than the commencement of the course and a copy will be kept on file.

We are insured and a copy of the policy is available on request.
